The Muslim Perspective

The only destination I can be certain of is the grave and after that, standing before my Creator to be judged. He has laid down rules and regulations on human behavior and He is the Judge on how well I adhered to His Commandments. If He allows me to enter Paradise, then He will have shown me mercy. If He condemns me to the Fire, then He will have surely been just with me. I hope for His mercy and I fear His punishment.

"Verily, Allah! With Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware (of things)." (Quran 31:34)

Many people claim that they are "saved" or that they are sure of their entry into Paradise. Allah refutes this claim in the verse below:

"Say to (them): 'If the home of the Hereafter with Allah is indeed for you specially and not for others, of mankind, then long for death if you are truthful.'" (Quran 2:94)
