The Muslim Perspective
To become Muslim, you simply have to declare that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the servant and messenger of Allah. You must do this with a sincere belief in the heart and a clear expression upon the tongue. The words in Arabic are: ash-hadu an laa ilaaha ill-Allaah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasooluhu, which is translated as: I testify that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.
